Instructions
- Cook elbow macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain.
- Sauté sliced smoked sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
- Make cheese sauce by melting butter, whisking in flour, adding milk, and stirring in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, cheddar, and Parmesan until creamy.
- Combine cooked pasta and sausage with the cheese sauce, stirring well; top with breadcrumbs if desired.
- For a crispy top, bake the mixture in a dish at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
