  • Total Time: 27

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, stirring until smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • In a separate bowl, warm the peanut butter slightly in the microwave until it’s easier to swirl.
  • Drop spoonfuls of brownie batter onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  • Using a spoon, add dollops of peanut butter on top of each brownie batter dollop and swirl gently with a toothpick or knife.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the cookies look slightly puffed.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
