A classic Old Fashioned Egg Custard Pie, perfect for dessert lovers.

  • Total Time: 2 hours 5 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the pie crust according to package instructions or roll out homemade crust into a 9-inch pie dish.
  3. Beat the eggs in a large bowl until fluffy.
  4. Combine sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and salt with the eggs; mix well.
  5. Pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust.
  6. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until the center is set but slightly jiggly; a toothpick should come out clean.
  7. Cool on a wire rack for about 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Nutmeg is optional; adjust sugar to taste.
  • Letting the pie cool completely helps it set better.
