- 1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the pie crust according to package instructions or roll out homemade crust into a 9-inch pie dish.
- Beat the eggs in a large bowl until fluffy.
- Combine sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and salt with the eggs; mix well.
- Pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust.
- Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until the center is set but slightly jiggly; a toothpick should come out clean.
- Cool on a wire rack for about 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- Nutmeg is optional; adjust sugar to taste.
- Letting the pie cool completely helps it set better.
