- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup basil pesto
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- to taste salt and pepper
- for garnish fresh basil leaves
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a baking dish, drizzle olive oil on the bottom to prevent sticking.
- Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Place the chicken breasts in the baking dish, making sure they are evenly spaced.
- Spoon pesto generously over each chicken breast, covering them well.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of the pesto.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes if you want the cheese to get golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired and serve warm!
