  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup basil pesto
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • for garnish fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a baking dish, drizzle olive oil on the bottom to prevent sticking.
  • Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the baking dish, making sure they are evenly spaced.
  • Spoon pesto generously over each chicken breast, covering them well.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of the pesto.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes if you want the cheese to get golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired and serve warm!
