  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon zest and juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • Start by cooking your pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a bit of the pasta water.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Next, add the lemon juice and zest to the skillet. Stir to combine and let it cook for another minute.
  • Now, toss in the cooked pasta along with the chopped parsley and basil. Mix well to coat the pasta in the lemony sauce.
  • If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately, topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese if you like.
