Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound beef sirloin (thinly sliced)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
- 1 green bell pepper (sliced)
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon ginger (minced)
- 1 tablespoon Szechuan peppercorns
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon chili paste (adjust for heat preference)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Green onions (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Start by marinating the beef. In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes or until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining oil. Toss in the garlic and ginger, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, add in the bell peppers and broccoli. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return the beef to the pan along with the Szechuan peppercorns, chili paste, remaining soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
