A delightful bread filled with spiced apples and topped with a sweet glaze.

  • Total Time: 75

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup peeled and diced apples
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Don’t overmix! A few lumps are okay.
  • Fold in the diced apples gently, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  • Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes. The bread is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • While the bread is cooling, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled bread.
