Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup peeled and diced apples
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Don’t overmix! A few lumps are okay.
- Fold in the diced apples gently, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes. The bread is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- While the bread is cooling, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled bread.
