A warm and comforting dessert made with ripe bananas and a buttery crust, perfect for family gatherings.

  • Total Time: 50

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ripe bananas (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (or brown sugar for a deeper flavor)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine sliced bananas, sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, milk, baking powder, and salt until smooth.
  • Pour the banana mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread evenly.
  • Pour the batter over the banana mixture. Do not stir – the batter will rise and form a crust while baking.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
