  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley ((optional, for garnish))

Instructions

  • Start by cooking the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the flour over the sausage, stirring continuously for about 1 minute.
  • Slowly whisk in the milk, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until the mixture thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the cooked macaroni and cheese to the skillet, stirring to combine. Mix in the shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
