- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley ((optional, for garnish))
Instructions
- Start by cooking the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Sprinkle the flour over the sausage, stirring continuously for about 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in the milk, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until the mixture thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the cooked macaroni and cheese to the skillet, stirring to combine. Mix in the shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
