- 2-3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional)
Instructions
- Start by placing the chicken breasts at the bottom of your slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, chicken broth, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, making sure it's well coated.
- If you want, drizzle in some apple cider vinegar for extra tang.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours. The chicken should be tender and easily shredded.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken and shred it with two forks. Return it to the slow cooker and stir to combine with the sauce.
- Serve immediately or keep it warm until ready to enjoy.
