Ingredients

Scale
  • 2-3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  • Start by placing the chicken breasts at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  • In a bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, chicken broth, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, making sure it's well coated.
  • If you want, drizzle in some apple cider vinegar for extra tang.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours. The chicken should be tender and easily shredded.
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken and shred it with two forks. Return it to the slow cooker and stir to combine with the sauce.
