Fun and colorful cookies shaped like school buses, perfect for kids’ parties.

  • Total Time: 42

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Yellow frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • Black decorating gel or chocolate chips for wheels
  • Optional assorted sprinkles for extra decoration

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Don’t overmix!
  • Use a tablespoon or cookie scoop to drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  • Once cooled, spread yellow frosting on top of each cookie. Use black gel or chocolate chips to create wheels.
  • Get creative! Add sprinkles or other decorations to make your school bus cookies stand out.
