- 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up as well.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer it to a pizza peel or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Drizzle olive oil over the dough, then spread the ricotta cheese evenly across the surface. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.
- Evenly distribute the crumbled sausage over the ricotta layer, followed by the shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Once out of the oven, drizzle the pizza with honey and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired, and enjoy your delicious creation!
