Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Mix flour and salt in a bowl.
  3. Add activated yeast, olive oil, garlic, and rosemary to the flour mixture; stir until dough forms.
  4. Knead dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough, shape it into a round loaf, and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  9. Bake loaf for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool on a wire rack before slicing and enjoying.
