Ingredients
Scale
- 1 medium head green cabbage
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- to taste Salt and pepper
- for garnish Fresh herbs (like parsley or chives)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature helps achieve that crispy exterior.
- Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and trim the stem so it sits flat on your cutting board.
- Slice the cabbage into 1-inch thick steaks. You should get about 4-6 steaks depending on the size of your cabbage.
- In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Brush both sides of each cabbage steak with the oil mixture. Make sure they’re well-coated for maximum flavor.
- Arrange the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure they’re not touching each other.
- Roast in the oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy on the edges.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
