A delightful Pioneer Woman Apple Crisp made with fresh apples and a crunchy oat topping.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups of peeled and sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toss sliced apples with lemon juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
  3. In another bowl, mix oats, brown sugar, and flour, then add butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into a greased baking dish and top with the oat mixture.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes until the topping is golden and apples are bubbly.
