Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
  • 12 count slider buns
  • to taste butter, for brushing
  • optional sliced jalapeños for some heat

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and peppers. Cook until they soften, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the flank steak to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Slice the slider buns in half, placing the bottom halves in a greased baking dish.
  • Layer half of the provolone cheese on the bottom buns, then add the steak, pepper, and onion mixture on top.
  • Finish with the remaining provolone cheese and cover with the top buns.
  • Brush the tops of the buns with melted butter for extra flavor.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are golden brown.
  • Let cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve warm!
