- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar (substitute with coconut sugar if desired)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (can use gluten-free flour)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional for added chocolatey goodness)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter and sugar, stirring until smooth.
- Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well until everything is fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually add this to the peanut butter mixture.
- If using, fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing into squares.
