- 4 ripe peaches, sliced
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a 9-inch round cake pan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the butter.
- Arrange the peach slices on top of the brown sugar mixture. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir to mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter over the peaches in the pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool for about 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving platter. Enjoy!
