  • 2 cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 16 ounces cottage cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef and Italian sausage in a skillet; drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion and garlic; sauté until translucent, then mix in tomato sauces and seasoning. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions; drain.
  4. Mix cottage cheese, half mozzarella, and half Parmesan in a bowl.
  5. Layer half of spaghetti, half meat sauce, and cheesy mixture in a baking dish; repeat layers.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 15 minutes.
