  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 whole wheat pita breads
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cucumber diced
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until soft, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Warm the pita breads in a separate skillet or microwave for about 30 seconds.
  • Spoon the beef mixture into each pita. Top with tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and feta.
  • Drizzle with tzatziki sauce and serve immediately.
