- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 whole wheat pita breads
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cucumber diced
- 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until soft, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Warm the pita breads in a separate skillet or microwave for about 30 seconds.
- Spoon the beef mixture into each pita. Top with tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and feta.
- Drizzle with tzatziki sauce and serve immediately.
