- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1.5 cups brown sugar (packed)
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 3 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup walnuts (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the maple syrup and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
- Fold in the chopped walnuts gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, cut into squares and serve! Enjoy!
