A hearty and delicious casserole that combines the classic flavors of a bacon cheeseburger in a warm and cheesy dish.

  • Total Time: 45

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cups frozen tater tots
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and let it drain on paper towels, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.
  • Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté for about 3-5 minutes until it becomes translucent.
  • Stir in the ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula. Add the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned, about 7-10 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, sour cream, and milk. Stir until well mixed.
  • In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spread half of the tater tots evenly on the bottom.
  • Pour the beef and sour cream mixture over the tater tots, then top with the remaining tater tots.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top, followed by the crispy bacon pieces.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
