- 1 pound pasta (such as rotini or penne)
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes (halved)
- 1 cup fresh mozzarella balls (halved)
- 1/2 cup fresh basil (chopped)
- 1/4 cup red onion (finely chopped)
- 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Optional: 1 teaspoon minced garlic (for extra flavor)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted boiling water. Drain and let cool.
- Chop the cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, and red onion while the pasta cools.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Add garlic if using.
- Add the cooled pasta to the bowl along with the chopped vegetables and mozzarella. Toss to combine.
- Let the salad sit for 15 minutes before serving to meld flavors.
