A delightful bowl of shrimp cooked in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, served over rice and veggies.

  • Total Time: 20

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (minced (optional))
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets (or your choice of veggies)
  • 1/4 cup green onions (chopped)
  • to taste sesame seeds (for garnish (optional))

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger (if using). Set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the shrimp in a single layer.
  • Cook shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until they turn pink and opaque.
  • Pour the honey garlic sauce over the shrimp. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  • While the shrimp cooks, steam or sauté your veggies until tender. I usually steam my broccoli for about 5 minutes.
  • Once the shrimp is cooked, serve it over a bed of rice, topped with steamed veggies.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Enjoy your meal!
