Delicious homemade sweet potato gnocchi tossed in a rich honey butter sauce.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale

To whip up this decadent delight, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • Fresh sage leaves (for garnish, optional)

Remember that using fresh ingredients is key! The sweetness of the sweet potatoes is what makes this recipe a true delight.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C), poke holes in sweet potatoes, and bake for 45 minutes until tender.
  2. Once cool, scoop and mash the sweet potatoes, then mix in flour, salt, and nutmeg to form a dough.
  3. On a floured surface, divide the dough, roll into ropes, cut into pieces, and create ridges with a fork.
  4. Boil salted water, add gnocchi, and cook until they float (2-3 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  5. Melt butter in a skillet, stir in honey, and simmer for 1 minute to make the sauce.
  6. Add gnocchi to the skillet, toss in the sauce, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Garnish with sage if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure sweet potatoes are tender for the best texture.
  • Fresh sage can enhance the flavor, but is optional.
