A delicious and easy-to-make herb bread that fills your kitchen with warmth and flavor.

  • Total Time: 50

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (about 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, oregano, basil, garlic powder, and yeast. Mix well.
  • Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until the mixture forms a dough.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while the dough rises.
  • Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  • Cover the loaf with a cloth and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool before slicing.
