Instructions

- Wrap and chill dough for 30 minutes.
- Roll chilled dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread almond paste over the dough, leaving a border.
- Fold dough to create layers, either in thirds or rolling.
- Brush top with beaten egg for shine.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden.
- Cool on a rack and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
