Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks (optional)
- 1 onion, cut into chunks (optional)
- Wooden or metal skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix honey, BBQ sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken cubes, ensuring they’re well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for more flavor.
- If you're using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes. This prevents them from burning on the grill. For metal skewers, just get them ready!
- Thread the marinated chicken onto the skewers, alternating with bell peppers and onions if desired. Keep everything evenly spaced for even cooking.
- Heat your grill to medium-high heat. Oil the grates lightly to prevent sticking.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally. You want the chicken to reach an internal temperature of 165°F and have beautiful grill marks.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.
