A delicious Greek Phyllo Meat Pie filled with savory ground meat, feta cheese, and aromatic herbs, wrapped in flaky phyllo dough.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (16 oz) of phyllo dough
  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup melted butter or olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
  2. Add ground meat, cooking until browned, then stir in parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper; let cool.
  3. Mix in feta cheese and beaten eggs.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and layer phyllo dough in a baking dish, brushing with butter.
  5. Spread the meat mixture over phyllo and cover with more layers, brushing each with butter.
  6. Cut top layers into squares and bake for 45 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.
