- 1 lb sirloin steak (trimmed and cut into 1-inch cubes)
- 8 oz cremini mushrooms (halved)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves (or 1/2 tsp dried thyme)
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt (plus more to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper (freshly ground)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Pat steak cubes dry and season with salt and pepper. Let rest 10 minutes.
- Heat skillet over medium-high and add 1 tbsp oil. Sear mushrooms cut-side down 4 minutes until golden; remove.
- Add remaining oil and 1 tbsp butter. Add steak in a single layer and cook 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- Reduce heat to medium. Push steak aside, add remaining butter and garlic, cook 30 seconds, then mix through steak.
- Return mushrooms, add Worcestershire and thyme, toss 1 minute. Finish with parsley and lemon if desired.
