Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined (fresh or frozen))
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup white wine (or chicken broth)
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
- 8 ounces linguine or spaghetti (optional)
Instructions
- Start by cooking your pasta according to the package instructions. Make sure to reserve some pasta water for later.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Don't overcrowd the pan!
- Pour in the white wine and lemon juice. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the alcohol cooks off and the sauce thickens slightly.
- Toss in the cooked pasta, adding a little reserved pasta water if needed. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the chopped parsley just before serving.
