Quick and delicious garlic butter scallops that are perfect for any dinner occasion.

  • Total Time: 20

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh sea scallops (about 12-16 scallops)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (for a kick) (optional)

Instructions

  • Start by patting the scallops dry with a paper towel. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 2 tablespoons of the butter and let it melt until it starts to foam.
  • Place the scallops in the skillet, making sure they’re not crowded. Sear for about 2-3 minutes until a golden crust forms.
  • Flip the scallops gently and add the minced garlic and the remaining butter to the pan. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, spooning the melted butter over the scallops.
  • Once they’re opaque and cooked through, remove them from the heat. Squeeze lemon juice over the top and sprinkle with parsley.
