Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh sea scallops (about 12-16 scallops)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- to taste Salt and pepper
- 1 lemon juiced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (for a kick) (optional)
Instructions
- Start by patting the scallops dry with a paper towel. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 2 tablespoons of the butter and let it melt until it starts to foam.
- Place the scallops in the skillet, making sure they’re not crowded. Sear for about 2-3 minutes until a golden crust forms.
- Flip the scallops gently and add the minced garlic and the remaining butter to the pan. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, spooning the melted butter over the scallops.
- Once they’re opaque and cooked through, remove them from the heat. Squeeze lemon juice over the top and sprinkle with parsley.
