A quick and tasty dish that brings together tender beef and crunchy broccoli in a savory garlic butter sauce.

  • Total Time: 30

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak (thinly sliced)
  • 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional)
  • Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Instructions

  • Start by marinating the beef. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and black pepper. Add the beef slices and let them marinate for about 15 minutes.
  • While the beef is marinating, steam the broccoli until it's bright green and tender, about 4-5 minutes. Set it aside.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the marinated beef to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  • Stir in the steamed broccoli and sesame oil (if using). Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing everything to combine well.
  • Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles, and enjoy!
