Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound flank steak (thinly sliced)
- 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional)
- Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)
Instructions
- Start by marinating the beef. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and black pepper. Add the beef slices and let them marinate for about 15 minutes.
- While the beef is marinating, steam the broccoli until it's bright green and tender, about 4-5 minutes. Set it aside.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the marinated beef to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and cooked through.
- Stir in the steamed broccoli and sesame oil (if using). Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing everything to combine well.
- Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles, and enjoy!
