Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce (optional)
- to taste sea salt (for sprinkling, optional)
Instructions
- Peel and slice the bananas into 1-inch thick pieces. Lay them out on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Scoop about a teaspoon of peanut butter onto half of the banana slices. Top with another slice to create a sandwich.
- Put the baking sheet in the freezer for about 1 hour, or until the banana sandwiches are firm.
- Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
- Dip each banana sandwich into the melted chocolate, coating it evenly.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts over the chocolate before it hardens. Add caramel sauce and sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
- Return the chocolate-dipped bananas to the baking sheet and freeze for another hour before serving.
