- 1 medium head green cabbage (chopped (about 6 cups))

- 1 medium onion (sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon salt (to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- 4 slices bacon (chopped (optional))
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (for a tangy twist)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. If using bacon, cook until crispy, then remove and set aside.
- Add butter to the skillet. Once melted, add sliced onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the chopped cabbage and stir to combine with onions and garlic.
- Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir occasionally for about 10-15 minutes until tender.
- Drizzle apple cider vinegar over the cabbage and stir in bacon bits. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
