- 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced (about 6-8 peaches)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust based on peach sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Cinnamon (optional, for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss gently and set aside.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and the remaining sugar. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Carefully spoon the peach mixture over the batter, making sure to distribute the peaches evenly.
- If desired, sprinkle cinnamon on top for added flavor.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy it warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
