- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- While baking, heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté remaining onion until caramelized (10-15 minutes).
- Add beef broth to the skillet, simmer, and gently add baked meatballs; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle cheese over meatballs, cover, and cook until cheese is melted (2-3 minutes).
