A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese, packed with savory roast beef and gooey cheese, served with a warm broth for dipping.

  • Total Time: 30

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices bread (like sourdough or whole wheat)
  • 1 pound roast beef (thinly sliced)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 4 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: sautéed onions or peppers for extra flavor

Instructions

  • First, heat a skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Let it melt and coat the pan.
  • Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Place four slices, buttered-side down, onto the skillet.
  • Add a layer of shredded cheese on each slice. Then, top with a generous portion of sliced roast beef.
  • Sprinkle with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, then add another layer of cheese on top.
  • Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered-side up.
  • Cook for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Carefully flip and repeat on the other side until the cheese is melted.
  • While the sandwiches are cooking, heat the beef broth in a small pot. This will serve as your dipping sauce.
  • Once the sandwiches are done, slice them in half and serve with a small bowl of warm beef broth for dipping.
