- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Fold in the chocolate chips if using; this adds a delightful surprise!
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool for about 10 minutes before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired.
- Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
