Delicious and easy-to-make cherry pie bars with a buttery crust and sweet cherry filling.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder; then add softened butter until crumbly.
  3. Press two-thirds of the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Spread cherry pie filling over the crust.
  5. Top with remaining crust mixture and optional oats and cinnamon.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool for 15 minutes, cut into squares, and serve.
