  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set it aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Beat until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the dark chocolate chunks and shredded coconut until evenly distributed.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
