- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or spray with non-stick spray.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Slowly combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed. Be careful not to overmix!
- Fold in the dark chocolate chips and chopped cherries gently.
- Fill each muffin cup about 2/3 full with the batter. Add a few extra chocolate chips on top for that extra indulgence.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean, except for some melted chocolate. The center should be gooey!
- Let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm for the best experience!
