- 2 pounds beef stew meat (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup mushrooms (sliced (optional))
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch (for thickening, optional)
Instructions
- Season the beef stew meat with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, brown gravy mix, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Place the chopped onion and garlic in the bottom of the crockpot. Add the beef on top.
- Pour the gravy mixture over the meat. If using, add the mushrooms now.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- If you’d like to thicken the gravy, mix the cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry.
- Stir the slurry into the gravy about 30 minutes before serving.
- Once done, give it a good stir and serve hot!
