A comforting, easy-to-make dish that’s perfect for family dinners. Tender beef tips cooked in a rich gravy, served over mashed potatoes or noodles.

  • 2 pounds beef stew meat (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup mushrooms (sliced (optional))
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch (for thickening, optional)

Instructions

  • Season the beef stew meat with salt and pepper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, brown gravy mix, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Place the chopped onion and garlic in the bottom of the crockpot. Add the beef on top.
  • Pour the gravy mixture over the meat. If using, add the mushrooms now.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • If you’d like to thicken the gravy, mix the cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry.
  • Stir the slurry into the gravy about 30 minutes before serving.
  • Once done, give it a good stir and serve hot!
