A quick and delicious pasta dish featuring crispy prosciutto and garlic.

  • Total Time: 25

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz spaghetti or your favorite pasta
  • 4 oz prosciutto, sliced thin
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for some heat)

Instructions

  • Start by boiling a large pot of salted water. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
  • While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the prosciutto slices in a single layer, cooking for about 3-4 minutes until crispy.
  • Once the prosciutto is crispy, remove it from the skillet and let it drain on a paper towel. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  • When the pasta is done, reserve about 1/2 cup of the cooking water, then drain the spaghetti. Toss it in the skillet with the garlic.
  • Stir in the crispy prosciutto and Parmesan cheese, mixing well. Add salt and pepper to taste, and red pepper flakes if desired.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.
