Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz spaghetti or your favorite pasta
- 4 oz prosciutto, sliced thin
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Red pepper flakes (optional, for some heat)
Instructions
- Start by boiling a large pot of salted water. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the prosciutto slices in a single layer, cooking for about 3-4 minutes until crispy.
- Once the prosciutto is crispy, remove it from the skillet and let it drain on a paper towel. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
- When the pasta is done, reserve about 1/2 cup of the cooking water, then drain the spaghetti. Toss it in the skillet with the garlic.
- Stir in the crispy prosciutto and Parmesan cheese, mixing well. Add salt and pepper to taste, and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.
