- 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup hot honey (adjust based on your spice preference)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- to taste salt and pepper
- as needed olive oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess.
- Dip into the beaten eggs, letting any excess drip off.
- Coat in breadcrumbs, pressing down to ensure they stick well.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown.
- Transfer the chicken to a baking dish. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven and drizzle hot honey over the top. Let sit for a few minutes before serving.
