Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (or milk with a splash of vinegar)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko works best for extra crunch)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- Optional: chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Begin by preparing the chicken. Cut the boneless chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, combine the egg and buttermilk. Mix until well combined.
- Dip each chicken piece into the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add enough oil to cover the bottom. Once hot, fry the chicken bites in batches until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the honey until combined.
- Once the chicken is cooked, toss it in the honey butter sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve warm, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.
