- 2 breasts boneless, skinless chicken
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- to taste Salt and pepper
- 4 slices bread (sourdough or whole wheat)
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- as needed Butter for grilling
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- Mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
- Dredge the marinated chicken in the flour mixture.
- Dip the floured chicken back into buttermilk, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat and cook chicken for 5-7 minutes per side.
- Toast your slices of bread.
- Assemble the sandwich with chicken, ranch dressing, and cheese.
- Grill the sandwich until golden brown and cheese melts.
- Slice and serve warm.
