- 12 large pasta shells pasta shells
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 egg egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- to taste Salt and pepper
- for garnish Fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, chopped spinach, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt and pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Stuff each shell with the cheese mixture and place them in the baking dish, open side up.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let the shells cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil, if desired.
