Deliciously crispy Country Fried Pork Chops served with rich bacon gravy.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 2 tablespoons bacon drippings (or vegetable oil)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup flour (for gravy)
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels.
  2. Mix flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl.
  3. Dip each pork chop in buttermilk, then dredge in the seasoned flour.
  4. Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy, then set aside.
  5. Fry the pork chops in bacon drippings for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Make gravy by whisking 1/4 cup flour into the drippings, then gradually add milk until thickened.
  7. Stir crumbled bacon into the gravy, then serve it over the pork chops.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, let the seasoned pork chops rest for 15 minutes before frying.
  • Feel free to add more spices to the flour mixture as desired.
